Following the running of Race 7, the Floorpride Rangiora Handicap Pace, an information was lodged by Chief Stipendiary Steward Mr N. R. Escott against Mr G. D. Smith, Junior Horseman and driver of "Bramley Town" (9), alleging a breach of Rule 857(7)(a) and (b).

DECISION AND REASONS:
--Following the running of Race 7, the Floorpride Rangiora Handicap Pace,
--an information was lodged by Chief Stipendiary Steward Mr N. R. Escott against Mr G. D. Smith, Junior Horseman and driver of "Bramley Town" (9), alleging a breach of Rule 857(7)(a) and (b).
--Mr Smith had originally denied this breach of the Rules along with four other drivers who were charged with the same breach. The same charge against Mr J. F. Curtin was heard first and this resulted in the charge being upheld and a fine of $50-00 being imposed.
--After the announcement of the Curtin decision Mr Smith asked to change his plea which was accepted. Mr Smith was fined the sum of $50-00. The full details of the circumstances of this breach of the Rules are to be found in the Curtin decision.
