| -- An information lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr J. Muirhead against Mrs P. Screen, trainer of CHAPEL ROCK alleging a breach of the above regulation in that she was late notifying a change of driver for the horse. Mrs Screen admitted the breach and did not wish to be present at the hearing. Mr Muirhead said that Mrs Screen had nominated the horse via the internet and she failed to advise that there was to be a change of driver to Mr R. Paynter. Mr Muirhead said as it transpired, the previous driver, Mr T. Shaw, was unavailable to take the drive and permission was given for Mr Paynter to drive the horse. ----PENALTY: ----In imposing penalty the committee took into account the guilty plea, the fact that Mrs Screen had two previous similar breaches recorded against her in the last twelve months, the fact also that this was an Interdominion Meeting and Race 10 was one of the Pick Six legs and finally the submission of Mr Muirhead that a fine in the vicinity of $100.00 - $150.00 was appropriate. Having taken those matters into account, the committee imposed a fine of $100.00. |
