Following the running of Race 10 Information was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr N ESCOTT against Horsewomen Mrs L NEAL alleging she drove SUMMER DREAMING carelessly
Following the running of Race 10 an information was lodged by Stipendiary Steward, Mr N Escott, against horsewoman Mrs L Neal, alleging she drove SUMMER DREAMING carelessly causing interference to MILLWOOD BETTE with approximately 300 metres to run.
--Mrs Neal appeared for the hearing and admitted the charge.
--Evidence adduced at the protest hearing into the same race was considered and the charge established.
--Mr Escott made submissions on penalty and asked for a 3 day suspension to the 4 January 2006.
--Mrs Neal asked the Panel to consider a monetary penalty, and Mr Escott suggested a fine in the range of $350 to $500 would be appropriate in lieu of suspension.
--Decision:
--Finding the charge proven and following submissions by both parties a fine of $400 is imposed.
--This also reflects the co-operation shown by Mrs Neal during the inquiry and her early admission of fault in the subsequent hearing.
