Following the running of Race 9, the Golden Stockfood Ltd Pace, an information was laid by Stipendiary Steward Mr S. P. Renault against Mr P. G. O’Reilly, licensed trainer of “Clifton Power” (6), alleging a breach of Rules 865(1) and (4). It was alleged that “Clifton Power” was presented with ear plugs instead of a removable hood with which it raced at its previous start on 7 December 2008.

O’Reilly, licensed trainer of “Clifton Power” (6), alleging a breach of Rules 865(1) and (4). It was alleged that “Clifton Power” was presented with ear plugs instead of a removable hood with which it raced at its previous start on 7 December 2008.

Mr O’Reilly had indicated on the information that he admitted this breach of the Rules and that he did not wish to attend the hearing.

Mr Renault advised that Mr O’Reilly had no previous convictions under this Rule, and a fine of $100-00 was recommended. I was satisfied that a fine of $100-00 was appropriate in this case and Mr O’Reilly was fined this amount.
