Decision: Under Rule 870 (4) (d) Stipendiary Steward Mr C J Allison alleged that “during the last 100m PRESIDELL, driven by C Driver, broke and failed to lose ground while in a break”.
Under Rule 870 (4) (d) Stipendiary Steward Mr C J Allison alleged that “during the last 100m PRESIDELL, driven by C Driver, broke and failed to lose ground while in a break”. Video evidence was shown. PRESIDELL broke for about 70 metres and paced over the final 30 metres.

Dr Driver asserted that he had lost ground as both No.1, ROMAN GODDESS and No. 5, HEZANOPERATOR finished closer than they had been.

In response Mr Allison said the horse did not lose ground as much as would be expected if in a hard hold while breaking.

DECISION

I agree with Mr Allison and relegate No. 7, PRESIDELL to 5th and promote No. 1 ROMAN GODDESS to third and No. 5 HEZANOPERATOR to 4th.
--Mr Driver then stated he did not disagree with the decision.
