----Following the running of the Westies By Two Famous Five Syndicate Mobile Pace, Mr T. Taumanu, Stipendiary Steward, lodged a protest under rule 870(5) against the third horse, JOIN THE DOTS (S. Doody) on the grounds that it broke approximately 30 metres from the finish and was lapped on by the fourth horse ANVIL FAST CAT (M. McKendry).
----Mr Doody confirmed he was requested to represent the connections of JOIN THE DOTS at the hearing.
----Mr Taumanu used the side on film to show JOIN THE DOTS break 30 metres out when running second and remain in a break until the finish. ANVIL FAST CAT finished quickly and lapped on JOIN THE DOTS.
----Mr Doody conceded his horse had been lapped on.
----The Committee finds JOIN THE DOTS was lapped on by ANVIL FAST CAT and therefore pursuant to rule 870(5) directs that JOIN THE DOTS be placed behind ANVIL FAST CAT. The amended placings are therefore:
