----
The information alleges that ?Blimey O?Reilly? or its rider placed 1st by the judge interfered with the chances of ?Mettre En Jeu? placed 3rd by the judge.
--The alleged interference occurred in the Final straight.
--The official margins were ? of a length and 11/4 lengths.
--The relevant rule i.e. 876 (1) was read and those present acknowledged they understood same.
--Also present at the hearing were Mr N. Auret, Syndicate Manager of ?Mettre En Jeu? and Mr G. McKeon the rider of ?Blimey O?Reilly? together with a representative of the owners of ?Blimey O?Reilly? and gentlemen of the Press.
--Mr Auret felt his horse was severely hampered when trying to improve on the rail inside ?Blimey O?Reilly?.
--Mr Walker then used the film to demonstrate what he felt had happened 200 metres out when he was trying to improve and further stated he had to check out 100 metres from the Winning Post, when trying to improve inside ?Blimey O?Reilly?.
--Mr Elliot for his part used the film to show Mr Walker riding his mount with vigour prior to the alleged incident, it was his view ?Mettre En Jeu? was not going good enough to improve when the gap was presented prior to both ?Blimey O?Reilly? and ?Mettre En Jeu? drifting in.
--Mr George for his part used the film to show ?Mettre En Jeu? directly behind ?Blimey O?Reilly? at the 200 metre mark with a gap big enough for him ?Mettre En Jeu? to go into on the inside if going good enough.
--Both horses then drifting in towards the inside running rail, Mr George further stated he did not believe that ?Mettre En Jeu? had claimed ownership of the run inside ?Blimey O?Reilly? and that he did finish 11/4 length behind the 2nd horse.
--Both parties when asked said they had nothing further to add and left the committee to arrive at a decision.
--The committee took into account all evidence presented to them both verbal and the films and were of the view that placings should stand, and dismissed the protest. They did not consider the protest to be of a frivolous nature.
