Following the running of race No 4, an information was filed instigating a protest.
--The judge's placings were 1st No 9, 2nd no 16, 3rd No 2, 4th No 15, 5th No 3, 6th No 14.
--The informant was Mr. J M Muirhead Stipendiary Steward and this was a protest against horse No 3 Springfield Master driven by Mr. B M Mangos on the grounds that Springfield Master had galloped for a distance of in excess of 150 meters shortly after the start.
--Mr. Muirhead showed the video of this incident and the video clearly showed Springfield Master to be in a gallop for a distance of more than 150 meters as alleged.
--The connections of Springfield Master did not contest this protest and did not wish to be present at the hearing of this information.
--Mr. Muirhead asked for disqualification of Springfield master from it's 5th placing.
--Decision And Reasons.
--Having watched the video of this incident and taking into consideration that this protest was uncontested by the connections of Springfield Master this Judicial Committee upholds this protest.
--We therefore order the disqualification of Springfield Master from 5th placing in this race and the placings shall now read 1st No 9, 2nd No 16, 3rd No 2, 4th No 15, 5th No 14, 6th No 1.
