An Information was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr C J Allison at the conclusion of Race 11, the SMD Pace, alleging that Mr S P Walkinshaw moved outwards when not sufficiently clear causing interference to OLYMPIA, driven by A R Hunter, with approximately 100 metres to run.
--Mr Allison used several video clips to highlight the alleged interference, stating that Mr Walkinshaw had made an error of judgement and that if he had waited for another split second Mr Hunter, who was driving OLYMPIA, would have provided the gap as his horse was tiring badly.
--Mr Negus stated that his expectation was that his horses should always be driven to win and he would have been extremely unhappy if Mr Walkinshaw had not been aggressive in his approach.
--Mr Walkinshaw, who had admitted the breach, stated he had made a poor tactical decision.

PENALTY
--The Information was upheld and as a result Mr Walkinshaw was fined the sum of $250.00. In fixing penalty, consideration was given to the guilty plea, Mr Walkinshaw's recent driving record, and that the interference that occurred was at the lower end of the scale of carelessness.
