Chief Stipendiary Steward Mr N. R. Escott filed an Information against Open Horseman Mr M. J. House alleging a breach of Rule 869(3)(b). It was alleged that Mr House drove carelessly with approximately 750 metres to run when allowing his horse, “Ms Universe” (5), to strike the sulky wheel of “Night Of My Life” (8) (Mr J. F. Curtin) causing his own horse to break.

It was alleged that Mr House drove carelessly with approximately 750 metres to run when allowing his horse, “Ms Universe” (5), to strike the sulky wheel of “Night Of My Life” (8) (Mr J. F. Curtin) causing his own horse to break.
--Mr House had indicated on the information that he admitted this breach of the Rules and that he did not wish to attend the hearing.
--The Stipendiary Stewards used video coverage to illustrate this incident. Mr House had no relevant previous convictions, and as he admitted the breach a fine of $200-00 was recommended.
--We were satisfied that this was an appropriate amount. Accordingly Mr House was fined the sum of $200-00.
