Decision: -- Following the running of Race 10, The Golden Coast Chartered Club Mobile Pace, an information was filed by Stipendiary Steward Mr T. W. Taumanu against Mr P. J. Scaife, the driver of "Point Me Holme" (11), alleging a breach of Rule 867. It was alleged that Mr Scaife failed to drive throughout the race with both feet in the rests of the sulky provided for that purpose. Following the running of Race 10, The Golden Coast Chartered Club Mobile Pace, an information was filed by Stipendiary Steward Mr T. W. Taumanu against Mr P. J. Scaife, the driver of "Point Me Holme" (11), alleging a breach of Rule 867. It was alleged that Mr Scaife failed to drive throughout the race with both feet in the rests of the sulky provided for that purpose. Mr Scaife had indicated on the information that he admitted this breach of the Rules and he confirmed that at the hearing. He also agreed that he understood the Rule and the nature of the charge. Stipendiary Steward Mr Renault used video coverage to illustrate that during the run home Mr Scaife had driven with his right foot out of the rest on several occasions. Mr Scaife said he had lost his balance. Penalty: In relation to penalty Mr Taumanu advised that Mr Scaife had no relevant previous convictions and he recommended a fine of $100-00. We adjourned to consider penalty and we were satisfied that a fine of $100-00 was appropriate in this case, and Mr Scaife was fined this amount. J. M. Phelan Chairman
