| -- Rule 869(7A) & (7B) --An information instigating a protest lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr T Taumanu against GET JIGGY WITHIT driven by Mr I Brownlee, placed third by the judge, on the grounds of breaching the above rules, namely the sulky wheel being inside the track markers for more than 30m within the last 600m of the race. Mr Brownlee represented the connections of the horse. --Mr Taumanu demonstrated the incident by use of the video film. It was clear that the horse's sulky wheel had gone inside five marker pegs. The marker pegs are 10m apart, thus the sulky wheel had been inside the marker pegs for at least 40m in the last 600m of the race. Mr Brownlee acknowledged the evidence put forward by Mr Taumanu and did not contest the protest. The evidence was clear and not contested and the rule requires disqualification of the horse. --In the circumstances, GET JIGGY WITHIT was disqualified. The amended placings to be ? 7 ? 8 ? 12 ? 10 ? 5. |
