| -- DECISION AND REASONS: --Following the running of Race 9, the Wyatt & Wilson Print Superstars 4YO Championship, an information was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr N. G. McIntyre against Mr R. J. Dunn, licensed trainer of "Mainland Banner" (8), alleging a breach of Rules 865(4). It was alleged that Mr Dunn failed to advise that he was adding hopple shorteners to "Mainland Banner" which had raced without these at its previous start at NZMTC on 29 September 2005. --Mr Dunn had indicated on the Information that he admitted the breach of this rule and that he did not wish to be present at this hearing. --Mr McIntyre advised that the usual fine for a breach of this Rule is a fine of $100-00. However, as this was a Group 2 race with a stake of $40,000 this breach was regarded as being more serious, and a fine of $200-00 was recommended. In the circumstances we were satisfied that this was an appropriate fine and Mr Dunn was fined the sum of $200-00. ---- -- --
