An information was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr. BJ VanKan against trainer S Hunt in that he failed to present his horse THE ADMAN in the assembly area with the same or identical gear in which it was previously presented.

--An information was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr. BJ VanKan against trainer S Hunt in that he failed to present his horse THE ADMAN in the assembly area with the same or identical gear in which it was previously presented. This horse had previously raced with half blinds at the Auckland Trotting Club Meeting on the 14th December 2007 and in race 6 at today’s meeting it was presented without half binds.
--Mr. Hunt admitted the breach and was present at the hearing.
--Mr. VanKan confirmed that the horse had been presented in an open bridle without half blinds and that this was noted in the parade ring before the horses went onto the track.
--Mr VanKan submitted that a fine of $400.00 was appropriate because this was a premier meeting.
--Mr. Hunt admitted his mistake. He did say that he had to be in at Alexandra Park before the race meeting for a Hearing that did not take place. He then had to telephone his son to get the horse ready and to load the gear and by mistake the wrong bridle was put in the gear bag.
--Mr. Hunt has a good record and he believed the $400.00 fine was excessive.
--DECISION
--The committee in assessing this matter took into account the submissions of the parties, the mitigating factors, and also similar penalties imposed for this offence at other metropolitan meetings in the country.
--The committee accordingly imposed a fine of $150.00 on Mr. Hunt.
