| -- DECISION AND REASON: --Stipendiary Steward, Mr McCutcheon, lodged an Information under Rule 530(2)(b) that Mr Cameron the rider of OLIVERNOTHA used the whip in an excessive manner. --Mr Cameron admitted the breach of the rule. --The films were shown in evidence of Mr Cameron entering the home straight using the whip and continuing to use the whip over the full length of the straight. --Mr Sharrock demonstrated on the films where he felt Mr Cameron did stop using the whip but in admitting the charge indicated the rider did have to ride the horse out to the line. --Penalty: --Mr McCutcheon stated this was not the first occasion Mr Cameron had been charged under this rule, at least two previous suspensions were imposed and said a suspension is justified. --Mr Sharrock asked the Committee to lean towards the lighter side when deciding on penalty. --Decision: --It is noted Mr Cameron did admit the breach of the rule. However, this is not a first offence and was clearly outside the boundaries of the rule and a term of suspension is imposed from the close of racing on Saturday 7th May 2005 up to and including the close of racing on Thursday 19th May 2005 (Three central days) --Chairman --Mr T Castles vacated the chair due to a conflict of interest |
