Mr McGarry admitted a breach of rule 614(2) in that he presented IN THEORY to race with the incorrect saddle-cloth in race 7 at the Otago Racing Club’s meeting on 3 November last. Mr McGarry admitted the breach and did not wish to be present at the hearing of the information.
--Mr McLaughlin stated that the matter had been detected by an assistant stipendiary steward at the plating inspection and asked for a penalty in the range of $150 to $200. As this was the defendant’s first breach of this Rule and as he readily admitted the breach, we impose a fine of $150 and remind the defendant of his obligations under the Rules of Racing.
