Decision:
Mr T. Harris admitted a breach of rule 520(4)(c) when he presented himself three quarters of a kilogram over the allotted weight
Mr T. Harris admitted a breach of rule 520(4)(c) when he presented himself three quarters of a kilogram over the allotted weight for his engagement on NORTH CAPE in the Stella Artois Cavallo Club Three Year Old. Ms K. Zimmerman assisted Mr Harris at the hearing.
----On the issue of penalty Mr Goodwin, Stipendiary Steward, advised that this was the fourth occasion this year that Mr Harris had infringed this rule. He called for a substantial fine.
----Mr Harris could only advise that he was having difficulty with his weight.
----The Committee noted Mr Harris had fashioned a very poor record in relation to his weight obligations to trainers and the betting public.
----Conventional penalties have seemingly had little affect. We consider his record and the circumstances on this occasion command a substantial fine and we fine him the sum of $750.
