--Stipendiary Steward Mr B VANKAN laid an information against trainer Mr G SMALL alleging he presented ROWAN MAGGIE in the assembly area before Race 1 with removable earplugs and half blinds, the horse having previously race with removable ear plugs at the Auckland Trotting Club meeting on the 27th December 2005
--Mr Small pleaded guilty and elected no to be present for the hearing.
--He wished the committee to take into account the following
--"Beaten favourite last start, ran third. Favourite again ? won. Should be commended not prosecuted" signed G SMALL
--Mr VANKAN gave evidence in support of the charge and concluded that all trainers are aware of the procedure in advising of change of gear. This had clearly not been done and asked for a penalty of $200 fine which was applied.
