Rule 864 (2) (d) Following the running of race 11 an information was laid by the Stipendiary Stewards alleging that Mr Taylor, the trainer of Live the Dream fixed the pull down blinds on the horse in such a way that they were unable to be activated by the horse’s driver, Mr R May.

--

--

At the outset of the hearing it was noted that Mr Taylor admitted the breach and did not wish to be present at the hearing.

--

--

Mr McIntyre advised the Committee that following the running of race 11 Mr May, the driver of Live the Dream had reported to the Stipendiary Stewards that he was unable to activate the pull down blinds despite trying to do so on several occasions. The Committee, accordingly, finds the charge proven.

--

--

Mr McIntyre in respect of penalty advised the Committee that Mr Taylor had no similar breaches over the last 12 months and recommended a monetary fine only.

--

The Committee after giving consideration to the early guilty plea, the good record of Mr Taylor and the submissions of the Stipendiary Stewards, agrees that a monetary penalty only is warranted and accordingly a fine of $100.00 is imposed.
