Following the running of Race number 1 the Stipendiary Stewards lodged an information instigating a protest in respect of horse number 12 placed 3rd by the judge.

DECISION & REASON
----Following the running of Race number 1 the Stipendiary Stewards lodged an information instigating a protest in respect of horse number 12 placed 3rd by the judge. The Stipendiary Stewards alleged a breach of Rule 870[5] in that Love Hate Revenge was lapped on to the Rustler at the finishing line.
----At the commencement of the hearing the committee formerly noted that the protest was admitted in writing by the connections of The Rustler and that the connection did not wish to be heard. The Stipendiary Stewards demonstrated the alleged breach of the Rule with the use of the video evidence which established that The Rustler left its correct gait short of the winning post and although restrained by its driver was still out of its correct gait and lapped on by Love Hate Revenge at the winning post. The photo finish of the race was produced and the committee was asked to note that the distance between the horse at the winning post was three quarters of a length.
----The protest is accordingly upheld and the third and forth placed horses are reversed the place horses now reading 8, 19, 1, 12, 3
