--Following the running of Race 4, the Avon City Ford Trot, an information was laid by Chief Stipendiary Steward Mr N. R. Escott alleging a breach of the "lapped on" rule, Rule 870(5), by "Grant's Wish" (1) driven by Mr J. D. Burgess. "Grant's Wish" finished 2nd in the race and Mr Burgess was the part owner, trainer and driver of that horse.
--Video coverage of the race was used to show that Grant's Wish finished in 2nd place at which time it was in a break and lapped on by the 3rd, 4th and 5th horses.
--Mr Burgess did not dispute this protest, and it was explained to him that his horse would be relegated to 5th place. The amended places are as follows.
