Under Rule 870 (3)(4) an Information was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr TW Taumanu against the fifth placing of horse number 11, Cool Story (Trainer Derek Balle) on account of galloping for the last 200 metres and failing to properly regain its gait.

Mr Balle represented the connections of the horse and did not contest the protest. He signed the Information but was not present at the Hearing.

Evidence was given by use of the video film of the race and this clearly showed Cool Story breaking almost 200 metres prior to the finish of the race and galloping for 200 metres finishing fifth.

Taking all evidence into account and the fact that the protest was not contested I hereby disqualify Cool Story from fifth place.

The amended placings are now 10 first, 9 second, 1 third, 7 fourth, 6 fifth and 4 sixth.
