Following the running of Race 1, the “McArdle” Standing At Nevele R Stud Mobile Pace, an information instigating a protest was laid by Chief Stipendiary Steward Mr N. R. Escott alleging a breach of Rule 869(8) in that West Coast Anvil (fourth) had interfered with “Charisteas” (11th and last) in the race.

Mr Butt did not attend the hearing and he had indicated on the information that he did not contest the protest. Video coverage was shown to illustrate that West Coast Anvil had broken from its gait at the 1300 metre mark, interfering with “Charisteas” and other horses.

Accordingly “West Coast Anvil” was relegated from 4th to 11th place. The amended places are as follows.
