The Committee heard from Mr Oatham who demonstrated the careless riding on race videos.

--

The Committee heard submissions from Mr Coles and Mr Sweeney.

--

We accept Mr Coles' submission that suspension be imposed. Taking into account the following:

  1. Plea of guilty, Mr Sweeney's explanation.
    2. --
  2. Serious interference was caused to another horse and a subsequent relegation occurred.
    3. --
  3. Your present riding record.
    4. --
  4. That you continued to ride your horse with the whip despite its outwards movement.

Accordingly we impose a suspension from the conclusion of racing on 6 April 2005 up to and including 14 April 2005.
