Following the running of race 8, an Information was lodged against driver, Mr D Dunn, alleging a breach of Rule 862 (2), in that he started from the incorrect barrier position (on Victoria Rulz).

----Presenting her evidence, stipendiary steward Mrs Williams referred to the earlier McGrath (Strawbs Last Act) matter in race 8, involving the same circumstances. In that case, she pointed out the positions of horses no 15, Victoria Rulz (D Dunn) and 16, Strawbs Last Act (NR McGrath) at the start of the race, which showed Strawbs Last Act at the barrier incorrectly inside Victoria Rulz.
----She said both horsemen were at fault and Mr McGrath, who should have been on the outside responsible for bringing the other horses round, got some cover, and Mr Dunn had to race wider on the track than was required, allowing Mr McGrath to get inside.
--In the end, they were in the incorrect barrier positions and, in respect to penalty, Mrs Williams recommended a fine of $200.00.
