An information was lodged pursuant to Rule 304 when it was alleged that Mr A Peard misconducted himself during a Judicial Control Authority hearing.

--Mr Peard , who did not admit the charge, asked that Mr B Wallace be able to represent him. Chief Stipendary Steward Mr George had no objection to this request which was granted.
--Mr George referred to the conclusion of a protest that was heard after the running of Race 2. As he left the room Mr Peard was heard to utter the phrase "this is a joke". Mr George said there was no doubt that this could be heard by officials and media who were in attendance. He also said that Mr Wallace, who although being quite agitated had acted as a professional racing man should and that , in his view, Mr Peard should have acted in a similar fashion.
--Mr Wallace said that Mr Peard had not had a good day. He had been involved in 2 relegations and since the incident a highly regarded filly he was riding had bled during a race. He said that Mr Peard had made an error in saying 1 word when the proceedings had finished.
--Mr Peard said he thought the hearing had finished and he was venting his frustration but was not aiming it at anyone.
--Mr George concluded by adding that professional behavior was expected from racing professionals.
--DECISION:
--After due consideration the committee find Mr Peard guilty in that he did not show the respect to racing officials that is expected from professional license holders.
--PENALTY:
--Mr George asked for a monetary penalty and suggested a fine of $200 - $400.
--Mr Peard had nothing to add
--After due consideration the committee impose a fine of $300.
