Prior to Race 10 an Information was filed pursuant to rule 520 (4) ( C ). The Informant, Mr Coles, alleged that Mr T Harris, rider of SLAVADAAD, failed to make the carded weight.

Prior to Race 10 an Information was filed pursuant to rule 520 (4) ( C ). The Informant, Mr Coles, alleged that Mr T Harris, rider of SLAVADAAD, failed to make the carded weight.
--Mr Harris admitted the breach.
--Mr Coles said Mr Harris did not have a good record under this rule and had incurred 2 charges similar to this since 25 January 2009. He said on this occasion Mr Harris was 1 kilo over but had ridden earlier in the day at 57 and 57 ½ kilos.
--Mr Harris said he thought he could make the 56 kilo riding weight and did not realize until this morning he would be unable to do so.
--PENALTY SUBMISSIONS:
--Mr Coles submitted a fine in the range of $200 would be appropriate.
--PENALTY:
--The Committee reminded Mr Harris of his obligations to connections when taking mounts. Mr Harris’ guilty plea and record were both considered before an appropriate penalty was imposed.
--Accordingly we impose a fine of $250
