DECISION AND REASON:
--On 1.1.07 an information was laid by the informant, Mr C George, alleging a breach of Rule 871(1)(d), namely careless riding. The information reads as follows: "DORABELLA ridden by L Innes when not the required distance clear near the winning post with a round to go moved in causing a check to LIKE ME WILD ridden by C Lammas and BLACK GRACE ridden by L Hofmann."
--This charge was laid on 1.1.07 at Ellerslie. Due to a very busy day the information was filed and adjourned to today, 2.1.07.
--Mr L Innes pleaded guilty.
--By consent of all parties this information is being heard today 2.1.07 at the Tauranga Racecourse.
--Mr Innes called Mr Lammas who said his horse was over-racing and the incident happened at the corner, he suffered minor interference.
--Penalty:
--The committee viewed the relevant race videos. Mr Robinson gave evidence and placed his interpretation. After hearing all submissions on penalty the committee agreed with Stipendiary Steward, Mr A Coles, that a suspension be imposed. Taking into account the following:

- Early plea of guilty to the charge. --
- Good riding record. --
- Mr Innes' explanation. --
- Two horses (LIKE ME WILD and BLACK GRACE) suffered checks and interference.
Accordingly, a suspension was imposed to commence from the conclusion of racing 2.1.07, up to and including 11.1.07.
