Following the running of Race 2 (Agritrade Valagro Highweight), Information A14039 was filed with the Judicial Committee. It was alleged by the Informant that Ms MacNab had used her whip excessively prior to the 100m.
Ms MacNab won the Race, riding FANTASY FLIGHT, with 5 strikes being the limit.
Ms MacNab said that she understood the Rule, charge and confirmed that she admitted the breach.
Mr Jones showed the film replays and said Ms MacNab had hit her mount 8 times prior to the 100m and then only once from there on. He added that the horse won the race comfortably.
Ms MacNab agreed with Mr Jones’ interpretation of her whip use.

Mr Jones said that Ms MacNab had a clear record over the last 6 months. He added that an aggravating factor could be that her horse won the Race, but noted that the whip was used once only during the final 100m.
Ms MacNab said that it was a long time between rides and that it was an error on her part.
