Levin RC 20 December 2012 – R2
ID: JCA15708
Code:
Thoroughbred
Meet Title:
Levin RC - 20 December 2012
Meet Chair:
TCastles
Meet Committee Member 1:
NMcCutcheon
Race Date:
2012/12/20
Race Number:
2
Decision:
As the charge was admitted it was deemed proved.
Penalty:
Miss. Dravitzki you are suspended from race riding from the completion of racing on 27 December up to and including racing on 1 January (4days). Those days are
29/12 Ellerslie
30/12 Taupo
31/12 Stratford
1/1 Hawkes Bay.
Charge:
Alledged breach of rule 638 (1) (d).
Facts:
Ms Dravitzki represented by Mr Crutchley admitted a breach of rule 638 (1) (d) in that she angled her mount outwards near the 200 metres when not clear of Hammer (B Grylls) who was tightened.
Mr Goodwin informed the committee that at about the 200 metre when riding with vigour Miss Dravitzki angled her mount (Mi Apache Horse) across and onto the line of Hammer whos rider had to take hold. Ms Grylls, Hammer's rider, had to sit up and ease her mount because of the actions of Ms Dravitzki.
Both Ms Dravitzki and Mr Crutchley concurred that Hammer was tightened but indicated Ms Grylls may have overreacted.
Submissions for Penalty:
Mr. Goodwin submitted that the charge could be classed at the lower end of the scale. He informed the committee that Ms Dravitzki was a promising apprentice jockey who was obtaining a good number of rides. She could be classed as a North Island rider only and has had one previous breach of this rule (11/09/2012 at Woodville).
Ms Dravitzki confirmed her previous breach, that she was a North Island rider only and asked for any suspension imposed to begin in 7 days time (using the deferment rule).
Reasons for Penalty:
In coming to our decision to impose a penalty of suspension for this breach we have taken into account your record under this rule and your admittance of the breach. We are of the opinion that this breach could be classed in the low range but the three available films clearly showed the Hammer was inconvenienced and that Miss. Grylls through your actions had to ease her mount, and stand up in the saddle.
