At the conclusion of Race 3, the 'Sollers Hope Strawberry Farm Special Handicap Trot, an Information 13729 Instigating a Protest was lodged by Mr N Ydgren (Stipendiary Steward) under Rule 870 (5) alleging that with approximately 30 metres to run, Watch Rose Trot (N P Williamson) broke from its gait and was lapped on by Gee Itsa Boy (J W Cox).

Stipendary Steward Mr N Ydgren showed the Committee a video clip of the horses racing over the final stages of the race, illustrating where Watch Rose Trot galloped with approximately 30 metres to run. Mr Ydgren used the same video to point out where Gee Itsa Boy was lapped on as both horses crossed the finish line.
Reasons for Decision:
After viewing the video film, the Committee was satisfied that Watch Rose Trot did break with approximately 30 metres to run and that Gee Itsa Boy was in fact lapped on as they crossed the finish line.
