Mr Renault, with the use of the videos, stated POCKET CALL improved three wide from about the 400 metres. He said Mr Dobbs was observed to strike his horse 13 times from that point to just prior to the finish line. He said while Mr Dobbs retained the rein in his whip hand the strikes were in excess of the allowable limit.
Mr Dobbs said he thought he was going to win and had lost count.
