Following the running of Race 7 (Dunstan Horse Feeds Mobile Pace) Information A12249 was filed with the Judicial Committee. It was alleged by the Informant that Mr Whittaker used his whip on more occasions than is permitted under clause (b) of the Whip Regulations.
Mr Whittaker in the presence of Mr Hall said that he understood the Rule, Charge and confirmed that he admitted the breach.
Mr Mulcay showed film replays and showed where Mr Whittaker had struck his horse with the whip 14-15 times inside the final 400m.
Mr Whittaker agreed that it was about 14 strikes.
