Following the running of Race 1 (Levin TAB & Sports Bar) Information A12334 was filed with the Judicial Committee. It was alleged that Mr Harris failed to make the weight for declared ride on WAISAKE.
Mr Harris said that he understood the Rule, the Charge and confirmed that he admitted the breach.
Mr Oatham said that at 12.05pm Mr Harris had not arrived on Course and after a number of telephone calls as to his whereabouts he was replaced on WAISAKE by Mr M Cameron. He said that Mr Harris arrived 10 minutes prior to the Race. On arrival he was weighed by the Stipendiary Stewards and found to be in excess of 1kg over the carded weight for WAISAKE.
Mr Harris said that as he left very early for Otaki he was unable to have a sweat and said that the reason he was late arriving was due to delays on the trip south.
