Mr Allison, stipendiary steward, alleged that THE GRANDSON (Mr B Munro) broke with approximately 70 metres to run and failed to regain its correct gait.

Mr Munro indicated that he represented the connections of THE GRANDSON and he did not require assistance of a senior horseman.

Mr Allison demonstrated on the video that when finishing wide on the track THE GRANDSON went into a break at approximately the 70 to 80 metre mark and continued in a gallop to the winning post.
Mr Allison stated this was contrary to the Breaking Horse Regulations and submitted that the horse be disqualified.
Mr Munro accepted that THE GRANDSON had broken for some 70 metres.
Reasons for Decision:
We find that THE GRANDSON went into a break at approximately the 70 to 80 metre mark and continued in a gallop to the winning post. This is a breach of the Breaking Horse Regulations and we hold the horse has failed to promptly regain its correct gait as required by the rules.
